The primary challenge of the MHC Title III initiative is to create a rigorous liberal arts learning environment that 21st Century students will find attractive, stimulating, and meaningful.

To meet this challenge, Title III will fund grant activities aimed at improving instructional technology and faculty advising. Further, in order to foster growth in the college’s academic profile, the grant will fund program review and student-faculty research projects. As part of the program review process, Title III will help faculty develop Honors programs for the various academic disciplines. Funding for research will help students conduct applied research and present their work at conferences.

Ultimately, it is the goal of the project to stimulate positive change in academic programs, instructional technology, faculty advising, and research that impacts enrollment, retention, and degree-completion targets.
