Institutional Review Board
Good ethics require researchers to consider the impact of their studies on other people and animals.
Accordingly, the Mars Hill College Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews, and must approve, every
research proposal that involves, in any way, humans or animals. Discuss IRB with your faculty mentor.
Note that any project requiring IRB approval will not be funded until such IRB approval has been given.
Go to the Student Research Project Moodle page
to learn more about IRB and to submit your proposal for review.
Please respond to the following questions to confirm your understanding of IRB:
I understand that this project (if subject to the IRB process) will NOT be funded without IRB approval.
Does your project include human or animal participants?
Have you discussed the ethics of research and the need for IRB approval with your faculty mentor?
Please confirm your IRB status:
If you have any questions about IRB approval, please contact Dr. Eva Lacy at elacy@mhc.edu or 689-1322.
